PRP for hair restoration is a non-surgical approach for both male and female patients who require stimulation of hair growth to treat thinning hair. PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is a natural blood product that contains properties responsible for healing and repairing. These growth factors work to stimulate hair growth and reverse the miniaturization of hair follicles which is noted in both male and female thinning and hair loss.*
PRP Hair Restoration FAQs
Our Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner will draw blood from your arm and spin it in a centrifuge to separate the different components of the blood, that of which the remaining plasma (the healing properties) will be used for hair restoration injection. Tiny needles will be used for injection into areas of thinning hair on the scalp and along the hair line. A topical numbing cream will be used to help diminish any discomfort associated with treatment, although there is minimal pain. After injections are completed you will be able to return to work or go home with no downtime. You will be given post treatment instructions for care and will reschedule for additional treatment 4 weeks out. For optimal results we recommend, 4-week treatments every 4 months and then as needed to maintain growth.
