What is Acne?
Acne is a common skin condition characterized by lesions that typically appear on the face, neck, chest, back, and shoulders. Acne often occurs during puberty when hormonal changes stimulate the sebaceous glands to produce excess oil. This excess oil and dead skin cells can clog hair follicles, leading to the development of acne.
Factors like genetics, hormonal fluctuations, certain medications, and lifestyle choices can contribute to the development and exacerbation of acne. Dermatological and aesthetic treatments aim to manage symptoms, prevent scarring and improve the skin’s appearance.
